WebRTC – new protocol to look out for

Are you using SMS to chat? What about Skype? Google Talk? Facebook Messenger? WhatsApp? Viber?

I am sure you would prefer to use only one of them but are forced to use multiple. This is also what Google thinks how things would be.

The vision of WebRTC protocol is to reduce the fragmentation of realtime communication protocols and thus allow TV, phone and your computer to communicate on a common platform.

Development costs cut 10 times

For application developers it means that you no longer need to support multiple different platforms to create a real-time communication application. Also there is no need to develop any hosted cloud server or new audio/video codec – all this is handled directly in the browser with a few lines of Javascript.

Personalized support and why there is no way around it

02 Jan 2018

We often see client support packaged into software products, whether it includes general support tickets, to live chat, to dedicated account managers. And it comes with a cost to the software publisher, which is often passed on to the clients. As product features expand, support tends to suffer, with reply times increasing, quality of support declining, and costs expanding to solve service issues quickly. Eventually, the personal touch of client support fades.
