Verigator enables you to start sending OTPs almost instantly. There are no legal contracts, template whitelisting, or sender registration needed. So, instead of weeks or months down the line, you can potentially start sending messages tomorrow.

Currently, we offer SMS, Viber, and Whatsapp with Verigator. But, we’re constantly exploring new channels to see what’s possible.

Verigator uses a fallback system to make sure that your messages get delivered. When a user enters their phone number, Verigator will send a one-time password through the least expensive channel first, whether that’s OTT or SMS.

Verigator prefers OTT channels like WhatsApp and Viber because they bypass mobile operators via the Internet. This means that they generally have better delivery rates, and are usually more cost effective. It’ll always try the most cost-effective channel first.

In these cases, Verigator falls back to alternative channels until the message is delivered. SMS, which is used by everyone with a mobile phone, and doesn’t need installation, is one of them. The good news? You won’t pay for WhatsApp or Viber messages sent if the user doesn’t have the app.

Verigator is exclusively used for one-time passwords, not marketing or transactional messages. It’s designed purely to help you get your OTPs out into the market as fast as possible.

The sender name is what’s displayed on a user’s phone when someone receives a text message that’s sent through Verigator. Typically, the displayed name is “Verigator,” but there are some exceptions. In some countries it isn’t possible to have a named sender, so in these cases the sender name will be a short phone number.

You cannot use your own sender name for this service. We do this to protect your identity from fraudsters and scammers. If they don’t know who is sending OTPs, they can’t impersonate your business for phishing campaigns. The “Verigator” name also means you can start sending messages almost instantly, since it’s pre-registered in almost every market.
